It was an excellent activity. Quiet, minimally messy (he's not that good at it), and time-consuming. I was able to make breakfast and pack Bine's school snack while he sat in the box and worked on a new skill.
It's an important one in our house. We eat a lot of carrots.
And afterward he wanted to feed it breakfast. What a gentleman. (I helped with the peeling on the sly.)
That was yesterday.
Today's first carrot.
Today's second carrot. (Sorry the pictures are blurry.
Pappa's workshop doesn't have the easiest lighting.)
And here is Pippi Longstockings, Bine's new obsession. She's so strong! She has a monkey named Herr Nilsson and a horse she calls Lilla Gubben (Little Buddy) and she can lift the horse. She swims like a fish. She's the best. Pippi also has a special whistle that she uses so her Pappa knows she is there to rescue him. Today we tried it out in our house to call to each other, which Bine thinks is genius. (She kind of shreaks the tune since she can't whistle.) We practiced a lot. "Mamma, you go far away and I'll call you." "Mamma, I'm going to run far and then you call me and I'll hear you and come really fast!"
Bine came up with this Pippi hair herself.
Gussy, taking his carrot and peeler "walkin'."
