There have been several crocodile sightings on Utila in the past few weeks, the first in many years. This one turned out to be so tame that it soon attracted a massive crowd and caused concern that it might end up being someone's dinner that night. A few kind-hearted people relocated it to a safer location.
Petting a croc: probably not the safest activity. However we're pretty sure it couldn't have been more dangerous than the walk we took from our Newark hotel, through an industrial park, to the nearby Ikea this January.
