42

I wasn't sure how we were going to celebrate this year. There would be lunch and the birthday boy's favorite dessert.  Maybe a boat ride or a swim.  A birthday poster on the wall and a song and hugs.  But living with John Arne is a little like living with Mary Poppins.  ("When you’re with Mary Poppins, suddenly you’re in places you never dreamed of, and quick as you can say Bob’s your uncle, the most unusual things begin to happen.” I couldn't have predicted the hula hooping, Finnish and semi-professional.

On NarneDag's Eve, John Arne saw the show at Tranquila and thought the kids would love her act.  So he asked her to come over and share her talents in exchange for a float.  She did.

After a birthday massage with Wei, JA joined us on the dock to see Esse's show and eat cake.

Magical masseuse, Wei, giving it a go.

John Arne's second cousin, Mads.  Superb chef, photographer (he took most of these pictures), party dj and delightful houseguest.  Bine is tickled that she has a Norwegian relative who speaks the same three languages as she.  He's traveling through Latin America for a year.
